One Hundred and Twenty-Second Collection
This studio portrait is more than just a photograph. Created in my studio, it reflects an experience designed to help women see themselves in a new light. Stronger, more confident, and more connected to who they truly are. Empowering women and capturing their strength, beauty, and authenticity is what I love most. Through my portraits, I aim to create images that leave a lasting impact long after the session is over.
This portrait was created for a woman preparing to begin a new chapter of her life. As she approached her second marriage, she wanted to create a meaningful gift for the man she would soon call her husbandβa portrait that reflected her confidence, beauty, and the journey that brought her to this moment.
During her session, she settled onto the studio floor as natural light streamed through a nearby window. As the curtains shifted by the window breeze, ribbons of light moved across her face and body, creating a fleeting pattern that lasted only seconds.
What makes this image special to me is the story it tells. It captures a woman embracing a new beginning and celebrating the person she has become. The light was unexpected, the moment unrepeatable, and together they created a portrait that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
Guusje arrived at the shoot with her beautiful birth cuddly toy, βHazel.β She absolutely loved being photographed together with Hazel, and she chatted happily throughout the entire session. It was such a joy to capture that enthusiasm in an image where time seems to stand still for a moment.

This black and white close-up portrait is part of the same series, created in my studio. A subtle haze in the foreground, achieved by placing glass in front of the lens, adds depth and draws the viewer deeper into the image. The result is an intimate, layered portrait that enhances focus, emotion, and presence.
