For me as an artist, the essence of portrait photography is not about perfection but about truth. This image was recognized in the One Hundred and Sixth Collection by Portrait Photo Awards, a platform that honors photographers worldwide for their exceptional visual storytelling.
Art is powerful when it evokes something within us—I hope this image does just that.

n this portrait, I aimed to capture the pure essence of human expression. In a world overflowing with visual stimuli, I chose reduction - to the most essential, the eyes. They are our most direct means of communication, windows to our emotions and stories.
The black veiling not only creates a dramatic contrast to the blue eyes but also invites reflection: How much do we need to see to perceive a person? Sometimes a single glance is enough to tell a story.
The technical challenge lay in the precise lighting - just enough to emphasize the depth of the eyes while keeping the fabric's texture barely perceptible.
