Welcome to my page, my name is Boukje and I'm an enthusiastic and passionate pet photographer. I really enjoy to create a dreamy image, and love to play with the light and match beautiful colours in the photograph. Dogs and horses have played a big role in my life ever since I was a little girl. Those animals stole my heart from the beginning and working with them makes me really happy and blessed. I work with a lot of patience and kindness to create the most stunning results.

I work with my NikonZ7II, and mostly I use my sigma Art 135mm f1.8. Sometimes I like tot use my 35mm f1.4, 85mm f1.8 and 70-200mm f2.8 as well, depending on the situation, model, idea and location.

If you want to know more about me you can check my biography at my website or follow me on Instagram to get updated by the latest news. Enjoy your day!

At one of my own workshops I invite beginner photographers to come with me to this amazing castleruin in the south of the Netherlands. Shiva the golden retriever was one of the models this evening, she was so kind and relaxed at that moment. I couldn't resist to take a picture of her at this setting. I really love the magical light at the end of the evening at this place, it gives even more fairytale vibes.

I met this lovely duo at a workshop evening of my colleague and friend Eliane, where I attended to make some behind the scenes for her. She invited some horse owners with beautiful black horses to do a modelling job for a group of excited photographers (including me). This stallion was so such a good and hansome horse, loved every minute of this shoot and love the green tones.

I took this photo at a very very special location... not, lol. These are the tiny bush behind our house, where everyone litteraly walks by everyday and don't even care about. But I immediately saw it's a perfect setting for dog portraits, especially the little or medium sized dogs. Nero had to lie down between the bush. It didn't mind him at all, he's such a good fellow. It took me 2 minutes to make this photo and about 15 minutes to give it the finnishing touch in Photoshop. I think this is my favorite portrait of him so far.

Back in October 2023, I went on this awesome horse photography trip to Switzerland. We went to a surprise location on a Wednesday morning... nobody knew where we were going and why we had to set the alarm so early.... like 04:30 am!

Arriving at the location, we saw the sun coming up behind a beautiful large field of purple flowers, it was so huge you couldn't even see it's end. It was just like a fairytale, and the models were so good and stunning as well. An experience I will never forget!

Back in October 2023, I went on this awesome horse photography trip to Switzerland. On the last day of our trip we went to Manuela, who lives at a beautiful place with her horses. You can see the mountains from the meadows. She really wanted some photos with her horses and her weddingdress. And so we took them... with this stunning view as our scenery. Really love this moment I captured of her and her lovely animals.

On a really cold day last January I had a clientshoot with Marjan and her handsome shepherds Daisy and Lizzy. I saw this beautiful spot in one of my favorite forrests, with beautiful backlight coming through the trees. It was cold, but we had a stunning sunrise and lovely quiet morning with also some frosty elements. This is definitely one of my favorite duo photos of dogs.

Rafi the Saluki is one of the dog breeds that was on my bucket-list for a long time. Finally I found a perfect model like him for my dog photography workshop, and he did so great. He fits beautifully in the urban area where we were shooting that day. Thankful for your loyalty and kindness handsome Rafi!

Pomsky Lilly (left) and Shiba Inu Nayla (right) were two absolutely stunning models during one of my dog photography workshops. Their fur colour matches perfect together. Short after this shot, the two little rascals thought it would be funny to run around like loonatics. Very much fun to see, luckily we were able to get them back for some more beautiful shots.

This sweet labrador called Jazzle, unfortunately she is sick and we don't know how much longer she will be with her owners. But nevertheless she's still a hyper and happy dog who loves to crash into creeks during this photoshoot, lol. This portrait is probably one of my favorites I've ever made during a clientshoot.

Another urban photo, but this one I took at a castle ruin near Eindhoven. Border Collie Zorah is such a pretty dog model, and she likes to show how pretty she is in front of the camera. This castle also has some great and unique spots for dog photography, and I've also took some horses up there for beautiful photoshoots.

Urban dog photography is something fun and trending at the moment. It's cool to discover how many simple city or town spots can be the most stunning decor for dog photography. This one I took in a small and cute town in the south of the Netherlands with my own Hungarian Vizsla called 'Nero'. The light was stunning this morning, despite the rain and cloudy sky. I think this is one of my favorite spots in the area.

I took this photo a couple of years ago. It was a cold rainy December day, I got bored and wanted to do some photoshoots since it had been a while due to the bad weather of the past couple of months. The mare in the photo is called Kuwerna, she is absolutely one of the best and most friendly models I've ever worked with. It happened in a split second, but I saw her looking over her back right into my camera. I took the shot and got it. I love the curves and how the background matches her manes.

This photo is probably one of my favorite dog photos. I took it during one of my own workshop days, and Skip the Australian Shepherd is such a perfect model. Her fur matches perfect with the scenery, the photoshoots took place at a castle ruin near my hometown. Love the results of this perfect evening.

This year in October, I went on a photography trip to Switzerland. A trip that was on my bucket-list for a long time, and finally after 2 years of waiting was actually going to happen. We went to the most amazing places and shot the best models we could ever wish for! On this photo you see Manuela with her mustang that she trains all by herself. It's such a special and above all very sweet horse. The forest where we were shooting was absolutely stunning and fairytalish because of the beautiful ivy growing around the trees. We had an amazing evening in this amazing part of Switzerland.

On a 10 minute car drive away from my home, there's this forest where I like to take walks with my dog. Every October I see the most beautiful autumn transformation I've ever seen in the Netherlands, with so many bright yellow and orange tones. I decided I wanted to organize a workshop for dog photography right here on this spot. You wouldn't think the colours on the photo are real, but it is! Luckily I had 5 other photographers who booked the workshop and can confirm that I'm telling the truth haha. It's one of my favorite places and times of the year to make stunning photos.

We went to the most amazing places and shot the best models we could ever wish for! On this photo you see Anita and her beautiful white fairytale pony Dolly, who lives with her horses in-between the mountains. We Dutchies couldn't believe what we saw... a horseranch in the middle of the mountains?! How is that even possible! But it seemed to fit perfect for Anita and her family.

I wanted to try a different angle from what I'm used to shoot from. The bending of the neck and the beautiful light on it captured my eye, so I quickly took some shots and it worked out stunning! I really love photos with horses bending their neck to show more shape and curves in the image.
