One Hundred and Sixth Collection

Three sisters, so different and yet so alike. The girls came to my studio early January this year. I am very pleased with the result.

In this portrait, I aimed to capture the raw energy and simultaneous vulnerability of a moment. The flowing hair creates a natural veil, allowing only a glimpse of the face - like a curtain moving in the wind. The black and white conversion enhances the texture and movement of the hair, while the dark clothing and background create a timeless atmosphere.
The image was captured in a moment of spontaneous movement, exploring the boundary between concealment and revelation, between presence and mystery.

Sweetheart Macey

The owners contacted me for a photo shoot of their puppy, but older Lou could also not be missing from the shoot!

Manchmal entstehen die kraftvollsten Dinge, wenn man sie nicht bewusst plant.
Dieses Bild war nie dafür gedacht, einen Award zu gewinnen – und doch wurde es ausgezeichnet.

Die Entschlossenheit, den eigenen Weg zu gehen. Die Stärke, immer wieder neuen Herausforderungen zu stellen – auch wenn sie unbequem sind.

Es steht für die Eleganz der Selbstsicherheit, die nicht laut schreien muss, um gehört zu werden. Und für den Mut, groß zu denken, auch wenn die Welt lieber hätte, dass wir klein bleiben.

"A Glimpse into the Soul" – A Portrait That Speaks Beyond Words.

A moment of stillness, a pause between light and shadow. This is more than just a portrait—it is a dialogue between photographer and model, between expression and the observer.

The gentle tilt of the head, the introspective gaze, and the soft lighting create an almost painterly quality. The muted color palette enhances the depth, while the interplay of light and texture emphasizes the authenticity of the subject.

For me as an artist, the essence of portrait photography is not about perfection but about truth. This image was recognized in the One Hundred and Sixth Collection by Portrait Photo Awards, a platform that honors photographers worldwide for their exceptional visual storytelling.

Art is powerful when it evokes something within us—I hope this image does just that.

n this portrait, I aimed to capture the pure essence of human expression. In a world overflowing with visual stimuli, I chose reduction - to the most essential, the eyes. They are our most direct means of communication, windows to our emotions and stories.

The black veiling not only creates a dramatic contrast to the blue eyes but also invites reflection: How much do we need to see to perceive a person? Sometimes a single glance is enough to tell a story.
The technical challenge lay in the precise lighting - just enough to emphasize the depth of the eyes while keeping the fabric's texture barely perceptible.

We spent my birthday in Berlin and had a nice shooting weekend in the city. @st_walker91 and I saw this Café and had to take that shot.

On a warm summerday, I had a shooting with @liv.2013. A girl full of selfconfidence. We had great sunlights, so I could take a picture with a perfect black-and-white scenery.
