One Hundred and Tenth Collection

"Darkness admires the light; light admires what it illuminates."
In this portrait, shadow and light engage in quiet dialogue. A lone figure, draped in timeless lace, holds a candle — not to chase the dark away, but to meet it with presence.
This image evokes the eternal balance between vulnerability and strength, between what is hidden and what dares to be seen.
She does not fear the night — she listens to it.
A Legacy Portrait that captures more than a moment: it becomes a mirror of the soul.

This photo is especially dear to me. She’s not just a model—she’s my own sweet daughter.

The Portrait Photo Awards is delighted to honor Derya Suter among this year’s distinguished honorees. His intimate black-and-white portrait—defined by its velvety tonal range, impeccable focus on the subject’s luminous gaze, and graceful composition—garnered special praise from our international jury for its authentic emotional depth. Congratulations to Derya and to all exceptional finalists.

Captured on the beach in Marbella, this image shows the model lying in the sand, embraced by the ocean. I waited patiently for the perfect wave to roll in and wrap around her body. Using a long exposure, the water takes on a soft, ethereal quality — as if the model is resting in a bed made of liquid silk. The result is a peaceful yet powerful moment, where nature and form merge in quiet harmony.

One of my all time favorite photos I have taken. Dutch cowgirls are my favorite subject for sure!

A black and tan Staffy stands alert in a field of light blue flowers.
The dog faces the viewer, centered and in sharp focus, with erect ears and distinct tan markings on its chest and legs.
The softly blurred background of flowers and grass creates a gentle, natural setting that highlights the dog's presence.

This little boy is 8 years old and this how I saw him through my lens, calm relaxed and secure, he looks like a model at a young age and he feels like an little “old soul”

I've known Charity since she was seven or eight years old. Now, she’s a beautiful young lady of 16 years old. A few weeks ago we saw each other again in my studio. Charity was quite nervous and found it scary, as she had never really been in front of a camera before. This is one of the first photos we took during the shoot. A stunning result with my favorite Rembrandt lighting.
