Handsome 10 weeks old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy Joop his first fotoshoot. He did it so well. His coat also matches the leaves of the beech tree beautifully.

In the quiet of our living room-turned-studio, a boy and his cat shared a fleeting, magical moment—an unspoken bond captured in a single breath of stillness. As their connection took center stage, a second, smaller feline quietly peeked into the frame, curious and unnoticed. Together, they remind us that even in the most spontaneous, chaotic settings, there is beauty in presence, patience, and the everyday love we often overlook.

What distinguishes this portrait is its sophisticated restraint. With a softened gaze and measured posture, the subject exudes contemplative self-assurance. The subtle interplay of shadow and warm tone gives the piece a painterly depth. Emotion is not performed, but rather suggested — allowing the viewer to linger in the unspoken.

This magical photo was made during a warm August evening. We went to the castle in Renswoude for this shoot. The swan with her 3 baby swans add that magical touch to the photo. This is definitely one of my favorite soots I've ever done in my career!
