Sixth Collection
This portrait was taken as an assignment given, experimenting with lighting techniques to create the traditional 'straight portrait'.
Using the rembrandt lighting technique, it is through the facial expression, the eyes and the garment that the model communicates through the photograph.
One Rainy Saturday me and my god daughter decided to go and play at my studio. It was a random meeting which ended up giving me the most mesmerising results ever! There were no plans made we just played around with the lights, different clothes and hair. While editing the images I knew this was THE ONE, I just looked in her eyes and there it was I was captivated!!
I am a man of passion...for me live starts with my feelings...the whole spectrum...to be happy you need to be sad from time the time...i always try to get emotions out of my models...i want them to let go of their walls..i want them to show me who they really are...it doesn't work everytime...but if it works it will give your photography the best you can wish for.
Literally, framed well, photographing Amy was a treat. The moments including this one, she says "Had a very fairy-like whimsical feel to them...that somehow was captured in a photo." Loved the natural lighting, the vintage clothing, the eye-catching scenery... everything about it!
The image was taken in Brixton, London. I wanted to produce an image where contrasting things are brought together in an unnatural way. You have a beautiful girl and pretty flowers, up against an industrial shipping container, an air-con unit, and a scruffy table. It's beautifully industrial. It's London.
Model - @leilalovess
Location - Pop Brixton, London
Portrait of Jenny under natural light. I tried to create an earthly feel to the skin where the woman embraces her presence in nature fully, bathed by light and surrounded by gentle harmless birds under the exotic leaves.
Nothing is quite as it seems... once upon a time
Model: Rihana Long
Hair: Rachel Stange
MUA: Holly Decker
This photo was taken in the first days of September, sunny and still warm. Originally the idea was to shoot the model in Shabby style. But this photo which I made almost at the last five minutes of photoshooting is completely different from the whole serium. Even postproduction I made.
She wanted to strike a pose, standing on the slope of 45 degrees down, on the bank of a small pond, but I called her and she just looked at the camera... And the shot was done.
This picture arised in the nature on a simple grass field. The green eyes of this amazing Model come with the green grass especially for prestige. And the freckles fit nicely into the natural look. I love the naturally look and i love to shoot outdoor in nature.
In this picture I used different light sources and tried to get a fresh young style, which is very close to a beauty. So here careful retouching was nessessary.
This was taken in a small studio with one beauty dish and a reflector. I had created a headpiece made out of balls of mohair wool. This is a crop of the shot focussing on Model Rosa Fitzrovia , with make up from Hannah Louise Field.
The English Roses, photographed in the heart of Hampshire, England. Two princesses from England and Puerto Rico modelling classic custom gowns to express the gentle tale of royalty.
I love it pure, clear & simple. So this was a very simple one-light-setup. Indirect light out of a big silver umbrella, high position behind my back.
But of course: Mario has an amazing and extraordinary expression. You ought not do more technical magic.
photography isn't about technique...it's not about F-stops...shutterspeed...and iso. The core of photography is emotion. Connect with your subject...feel together...don't let your camera destroy the moment...let the lens capture it...including the intensity of your emotions...laugh together, cry together, don't fake it...live it...
Elegance surely shined with our model, Michelle, and our vintage venue, The French Estate. With beautiful strong light coming through the window, she radiates beauty! This portrait is worth a thousand words, one of which is "wow!"
