For personal training, I selected three different models. Laura was one of them. My student was quite new in people photography and the complete working day in a small studio was a very successful day. Laura was the most experienced model out of the three and therefore I started the training with her to lower the barrier for my student. Only a few shots after the start of that training day I realized that Laura is the right person for a photo story that I had in my mind for some years: I wanted to display a quite successful woman working during the day for a bank (or something else) in a sales department who is traveling around to different distribution partners all day long. Her specialty is to select small boutique hotels all around the country and to calm down in the Spa of such hotels. After some time for herself, she starts to prepare for the night. As a man wolfing vamp she starts from the bar into nightlife. - This shot was done after the Spa time and during the preparation for the night. - For a photostory like this, I spent a complete day with my model. And I am very proud that -next to this great award- my photostory with Laura was displayed in the brand new SWAN Magazine (www.swan-magazine.com) some month ago. To see artworks like this in a high-quality print is always something special.

This is a result of my second Photoshoooting with Sunci. On our second photo session, she knew me better and behaved more like an experienced model.

We started our photoshooting with an indoor set and then finished a second set outside. I am very proud that a result of the indoor set was selected in the 36th collection. I called the photo "Black Beauty" because the hair of this beautiful model is totally black.

This was captured through the front window of "Coco and the Director" - Marriott's innovative new on-property food & beverage concept in the uptown Marriott in Charlotte, NC. The inside of this beautiful place created an exquisite background for this capture, matching my model, Chloe Logan's wardrobe perfectly. You can follow Chloe at Instagram.com/chloealora.

This image is part of a set of images I have taken in my studio of my lovely expecting client. Gorgeous Johana was nearly 38 weeks pregnant with her first baby, a little boy. I usually use natural, neutral colors in my photography but was inspired when she showed me this bright yellow bodysuit she brought to the session. I always like showing people's personality and style on images so we used all her bright colored outfits. This image turned out to be my favorite, I love the combination of black, yellow and white colors. Johana was very easy and fun to work with.

The beauty of the female body. For me, this type of photography work well in black and white and love the contrast of the different skin colors.

Any portrait begins with the eyes. The whole psychophysiological experience of a person, who is also called emotion, is reflected in two screens called eyes. People like it when they look in their eyes. Eye contact is important. He seems to be saying, "you can trust me." And the viewer believes

I once heard, that a photographer never takes portraits of others, rather, each portrait is a self-portrait. If this is true, I'm thankful for being able to learn more about myself through my work and figure out what my next step will be.

My youngest son can be found in my studio very often. This time I made him laugh so hard that he farted :-) ... So funny!
There is on earth a clean, clear lake, in which there is not a drop of lies and anger. It is beautiful! When you look into its depths, happiness overwhelms you. And it is near...in the eyes of a child.

We had just finished the newborn session with a picture of this beautiful young mother, her husband, and her older girl when she wanted to get up and I immediately asked her to keep her attitude and I repositioned her babies. This picture is the last one of the shoot and my favorite.

To realize a shot like this I usually start with a normal portrait shooting. Especially when working with a model for the first time I do these normal portraits to create some trust in the way I work with my camera. To build such trust it is important to me to give my camera again and again to my model to show the first results. And when I feel her confidence with my work, I try to leave "the normal way". For this shot, I asked Yvonne (a quite experienced model) to leave her "standard poses" and to follow my instructions. As a big fan of melancholic artworks, I wanted to create something special. Therefore I asked Yvonne to sit down on a chair. And then I asked to close her eyes and not to open them. This is quite unnormal for a model because the usual interaction between model and photographer doesn't work without eye-contact. To give my model additional security I asked to put her hands next to the face. During that "construction time", my camera is not in my hands because I need to concentrate on the creative process. And when I feel "that's it", then I take one single shot. And this is the single shot.
