Sixty-Sixth Collection

How can I achieve the painterly look? That's one of the questions I hear often. For me, it starts with light. Natural light. In this portrait a mid-sized window gives a soft, indirect light to the model's face. It helps create shadows from the side that create a sense of painterly depth and dimension.

Ashley and I did another shoot, a bit different then the last time. Always a pleasure working with her. Love this look with blouse and lingerie!

I wanted this image to tell the story of how panic sets in when pets see the suitcases come out. I added the prop of the phone to show they would be waiting at home incase they called and missing their traveling house mates.

A little more of Pink, commemorating all the brave ones during October. Breast cancer awareness month. For all of them, we wanted to do this as a positive action and support to all women fighting against it.

The Sylph,- with Gizzy Lovett as Model and Anton Krug as Designer.
Sylphs are the elemental spirits of air. They have power over the skies and air. Sylphs been delineated to have control over the wind and the clouds, and even have the ability to purify the air and control the weather itself.

This shoot took place outside of Berlin. On an old Russian military site (in the officers' house). We shot about 7 hours that day.

When Loïs asked me to take pictures of her pregnancy knowing that she will lose her baby after birth, I did everything I could to give her and her partner an unforgettable memory of her pregnancy. And what a pride she radiates. I am so proud of her.

My favourite portrait shot from our trip to the lavender field.
Like many of us, I'm just in love with lavender and always wanted to shoot in a lavender field.
There are no lavender fields around Tauranga, but I found few in Waikato. So I've decided to shoot in Lavender Backyard Garden. It costs $100 per hour to shoot in the evening, as the farm closing at 5 and can be only rented for after hours.
So I've decided to shoot in the morning once it's opened. Had to start driving at 7am from Tauranga. My model and MUA started preparation at 7am in Hamilton.
Things we do for a great shot.

Feminine/Feline

I photographed this beautiful girl and her cat in her photography studio in downtown Phoenix.

I posed her and allowed her cat to walk around while we shot, then took my favorite image of the cat and composited it with my favorite image of her. I wanted their expressions and connection to the camera to feel similar; and I love how this one came out.

You have to be careful out there on the streets, Harley Quinn and Joker are prowling in the neighborhood…
Someone please call Batman!!!

Often one is looking for the perfect location and no longer concentrates on the model. a good shoot can take place anywhere, like here in your own bathroom.

Beauty in lavender field. I love creating goddess look images. This location was perfect for a purple-themed shoot.
On the day this shot was taken it was bright daylight and sun was hiding behind the clouds only few times. So we had to hide in a shadow of trees, that luckily were in front of the field.
When sun is out all colours pop and shadows become very harsh. It suits for some types of photography, but not mine.
Anyways with a bit of struggle we got pretty good shots.

A photoshoot at the model's home. this photo was taken on the balcony, the light was just very good and so we take advantage of the situation.

Being during the Breast Cancer Awareness month, here is a rebellious shot full of hope for all those brave fighters who are battling against and have overcame this disease.
