Dreaming wide awake... <br /> This shoot was done in collaboration with my good friend and talented makeup artist and hairstylist Danielle! My house is filled with all sorts of hippy style and vintage clothing and furniture so it took nothing to put this hippy themed shoot together! Vikings Queen <br /> This shoot was inspired by the women in both The 100 and the TV show Vikings! I took pieces of fabric and tore them up to create a cape and draped them in torn up bits of fur from used fur coats from a thrift store. I was inspired to do this set of images when I found an antique pile of dresses at a rummage sale. It turned out they were a collection of dresses by a fashion designer founded in the 1960's! I was so excited and gathered together some beautiful girls who could really bring these dresses to life and brought them out to a gorgeous location where the back lighting dappled through everything. I am so incredibly happy with how these images turned out and don't think I could have asked for better models or lighting to bring together what I was envisioning!

Let Them Eat Cake <br /> This photo session was inspired by Marie Antoinette and the Victorian era! It was shot in a porch using all authentic and antique furniture and props and it was the model's first photoshoot! I am thrilled with how these photos turned out!

It is called "touch me" here I wanted to capture a sensual and intensely passionate portrait of Erica, where one longs to touch either her soul or her body. Red is a very powerful color which many subconscious effects, I wanted it to take her expression to unchartered territory, hinting subconsciously towards the forbidden sensuality of the touch.
"Look within, there all the answers lay..." I wanted to create a portrait of a woman reflecting on life in nature while it feels she is blending in the background and not forced into the scene in a fake way. Her emotions and expressions mirror that of inner state and serenity. She is from nature and to nature she belongs...
In the jungle with the blue/green leaves, called "an Elf from Middle Earth". I am hugely influenced by Lord of The Rings in my work, and here I wanted to pay homage to the Lothlorien forest where Gandalf was mourned. I wanted to evoke a bigger than life feeling, a play on expression and mood in a way that touches your spiritual side and reminds you of angels or Lady Arwen; a portrait of a meta-human in some sort.
Nature is a recurring theme in my work. This is a portrait that evokes an otherworldly feeling of being in a magical and exotic place with lush colors and lots of drama.
This is a studio portrait of beautiful Noor which I did using an authentic 100yrs old French general jacket along with stylized fashion lighting and toning. I wanted to create a striking and original portrait here.

This is an homage to Botticelli's primavera which is a painting I adore. I tried the capture the essence of the woman and the color scheme using natural light and PS toning.

A studio portrait aimed to capture the intensity in the woman's eyes along with careful shaping of her features using 2 point lighting technique.

For this picture I experimented a lot with the light. At first I wanted the light to be very tight and close around the face, so I put the spot only on her face. But when I saw how beautiful and stunning the red hair looked, I changed that idea. When I look at the final result I’m very glad, I didn’t stick to that initial idea and stayed flexible in the process.
We had these three bouquets and did not know exactly what to do with them, so we simply draped them around the head of the model. That was not really convincing at first, but when I later looked at the photo, I got the impression of an opulent headdress. I wanted it to be wonderful and bright, as if the model came from another world or planet. Beautiful and detached at the same time.
Another work with the beautiful model KC. She had the idea for this styling and for a while I did not know how to transform it into an image. Then one day I had the idea of a forest with stars and little fireflies or something like that. I tried this and that and in the end it was that :-)
A great Shooting with the beautiful Nathalie. It was my first shooting with her. I experimented with light. And during editing of this image I tried different styles. In the end I used less contrast, and black version and a very soft and tender mood.
Severine is a super nice, very friendly model. In this shooting we tried different light formers. I wanted to show that there is something more in her than nice and friendly: little drama and a very direct energy. I think it suits her very well.
This portrait was a surprise for me. During the shooting, I was not so impressed with the styling. I wanted more blooming flowers. Therefore, the picture remained unused for a while. Then came the idea to create a winter image. White branches and white flowers and a few crystals and ice. Unbelievable, how it played out in the ends :-)
The Model Änna Lou has a wonderful exotic face and charisma. I wanted to try a special, unusual styling, that focusses on the exoticism and the unusual. I was curious to see whether it would be possible to use a bag-like material and still make an elegant image. The light came from above and the brightness of the face draws attention.
In this picture I used different light sources and tried to get a fresh young style, which is very close to a beauty. So here careful retouching was nessessary.
It is always a challenge to work with one light source and with movement in the image: in this case with flying hair. We have used a fan for this image. Also I wanted to make this hair and the picture golden and warm.
I love Headpieces. I’m planning to make more pictures with conspicuous headpieces in the future. Too bad, beautiful clothes cost a lot of money. So we came up with the idea of body painting. KC, the model also is an incomprehensible creative stylist and she had this idea.

This photo is with the very impressiv and awesome person, Sara. I met her in Augsburg and actually we wanted to shoot in the Botanic Garden. But on this day in march it was beginning to snow and so we had to go inside to the glasshouse. So, it arose spontaneously beautiful pictures. During the shooting got to know better the amazing Sara. She's an inspiring person, who lost weight over 90 kilos. I was very impressed about her and i will not forget this shoot!
I made this photo with a analoge Cyclop lens and so created this blurry bokeh. I photograph a lot and often with analog lenses, because the pictures acts very soft and round and the person on the portrait looks almost quaint from.
This picture arised in the nature on a simple grass field. The green eyes of this amazing Model come with the green grass especially for prestige. And the freckles fit nicely into the natural look. I love the naturally look and i love to shoot outdoor in nature.
This picture arised with two ideas. I saw the beautiful fern and it wanted to introduce with the picture. And so the amazing and uncomplicated model laid under the fern leaves. Only i used available light for this portrait.
This Photo arised in Nature in a field of high grass. This picture was taken with sunlight only and one grass halm gives the shadow on the face of the beautiful model!
In this picture i wanted to show that was taken in heath. The beautiful hair of the model blends into branches of the shrubs. And with this beautiful model and the many freckles gives the picture a naturally look.
This is a picture of my series ´summer freckles´. A play of light and shadow in the face of the model created this natural portrait on a meadow.

"Little Audrey Hepburn in black tutu dress"<br /> Olivia is one of the most photogenic kid's I have ever worked with. She was born to shine! She is also a singer and actress...and only 7 years old! She has played various characters in shoots with me including a "bird girl" and a little vampire and every pose I get out of her is better than the last one. She's a little risk taker, afraid of nothing when it comes to the camera or the stage!
"Greek Goddesses in the white dresses" <br /> Carmela, Amelia, and Gracie are by far 3 of the most natural models I've worked with. They are not only gorgeous and shine in photographs, but they also bring a lot of excitement and creativity to the shoot, willing to try new poses and create them with me. They are simply a JOY!

He is a friend of mine Eddie Myles Jr. I met him about a year ago and the day I met him I told him I wanted to photograph him. I thought he had a great look. He responded by saying he had never modeled and did not like to have his picture taken. I responded by telling him I could make him look great and promised he would love the results. Safe to say he was thrilled with the shots we got and we have scheduled another round of portraits soon.
She is an up and coming model Patricia Faolli. She contacted me and wanted to work together to create some great images. We shot this on a cold fall day. It was really cold but she was a trooper. We were born the freezing but you wouldn't tell by her amazing professionalism and expression.
Model and makeup artist is Alli Ann Grin. She is a true Renaissance women. MUA, Model, Singer, and a true artist. She is a chameleon and can really make a regular run of the mill photoshoot become very interesting with her poses and eyes. Lots more to come from her, guaranteed!!
Model is Patricia Faolli. She is a brazilian model living in NYC, I lovingly call her my muse because she is just am amazing person to photograph. She is playful, sexy and a sweetheart all wrapped up in a beautiful package.
This young lady called me and said she needed a new headshot for her work as a spokeswoman. She was just one of those clients that you instantly feel comfortable with like old friends. She was a delight to work with. Turns out that her boyfriend is actually a model and we ended up shooting him the next day. Funny thing is the two shot selected as winners are of her and her boyfriend. Couldn't have written it better. Thanks
This is Xehavir Sallaku. He is an up and coming model in the US. Met him through his girlfriend which is actually the girl in my other winning portrait. So glad that these two pictures won. Can't wait to tell them. They are a lovely couple and I can't wait to work with both of them again soon. Just like her once you meet them you feel you have known them a long time. This is a natural light portrait of friend and Actor Anthony Tether. He is an up and coming actor out of NYC. Recently starring in a Smithsonian Channel documentary. Keep an eye out for him!! The shit was taken on the upper east side of Manhattan. Was a great day and we had tons of fun. It is always great to work with like minded and artistic minds.
This image is of Model Patricia Faolli. I found this oark close to my house as I was walking my dog. I loved the deep orange lighting and thought it would make for an interesting spot for a night portrait. Once there I decided to use a complementary gel color as a rim/hair light. I loved the end result and am planning on using this spot again. Thank you.

It was the weekend and nobody was in the studio. This lovely lady had agreed to come in for a casual shoot and to be my subject-matter for a little while in order for me to try a variety of special lighting - new things I wanted to create to compliment my style of photography. She was quiet. And she had trust. I’m glad she had trust, because it made her look relaxed. She took directions easily and the result is this. The camera loved her, the new lights loved her, and everyone who saw her image loved her. She looks magnificent!
This was an in-studio, impromptu shoot, with the manager of a modelling agency. She always books others for shoots but rarely gets her own pictures taken - I tried to show a side of her she wasn't too familiar with - soft and unhurried. She loved the final results.
I love this image for many reasons...Aside from accentuating the beauty of her features, there is a slight sadness in it which neither my subject nor me expected. Everytime I look at it, I can almost feel her thought process. I love both the simplicity and complexity of it.

I’d say both.<br /> It’s easier because communication is simpler and because you know every corner of their face; but it’s harder because they expect perfection from you and they criticise you more openly.<br /> It is also harder because you love their face, so every angle is beautiful in your lens - but they don’t see it that way and voice it in every step.<br /> But in the end, when THEY too love the image as much as you do, then you know you’ve done right! This is my daughter and it was the first time I photographed her myself. It was a labour of love and I probably was more nervous to photographer her than a client, and I absolutely LOVE this image, its spirit, its relaxed nature and the abandon in trust it projects.<br />

A plain black t-shirt, minimal makeup, no jewelry. The privilege of shooting a beautiful soul in its simplest form. It is not sadness you see in her eyes, it's pure trust.
Raha, my beautiful subject for this shoot, is an exceptional woman. She is the youngest Arab and the first Saudi woman to conquer Mount Everest. Tall order...How to capture this exception spirit? This was the feeling I went into the shoot with. At the same time, I had do ensure I made her feel comfortable, relaxed. She had to trust me. All that in a matter of a few minutes. But it was her spirit that produced the results. She allowed me and the camera to see her truth. Peaceful and beautiful.

Taken in the street in Cassis in France. This was a tramp who was resting from the hot sun outside a shop. I asked if I could take his picture and gave him some money for his time. I wanted to do a mono but with a slight hint of colour _ especially the eyes. This is a tight crop on his face. Natural light only.
This was taken with someone who had done very little modelling in her past, and I had the opportunity to take some portraits with her. This was done using the clam shell method and using soft boxes. A pink paper backdrop was use in my studio flat.The hat was found in a charity shop. Misha Silva is a natural Portugese model with a beautiful face that just speaks to the camera.
Taken using a combination of Three studio lights , two orange gels and one blue gel to set up the shot, using umbrellas rather than softboxes.
This was from an early shoot of model Ash Millman, taken in a studio with plenty of natural light This was shot against an infinity curve and using one soft box . Ash had very little make up and is a very natural shot.
This was taken in a small studio with one beauty dish and a reflector. I had created a headpiece made out of balls of mohair wool. This is a crop of the shot focussing on Model Rosa Fitzrovia , with make up from Hannah Louise Field.

This is a portrait of my cousin. Looking at this photo taken a couple months ago, it is difficult to imagine that a few years ago I had almost to force her to be photographed. The reason was her belief that she looked awful in pictures. But I convinced her that it wasn't true and this is the result. It seems to me that one of the most important conditions for a good portrait is the trust between model and photographer. So I always try to built not only a perfect composition, light and choose correct settings, but also to create a connection between me and the person in front of the camera. Taking portraits is always a dialogue, not the monologue.
I made in my apartment in Florence using natural light from the window and black backgrond. To create the dress I used just a piece of fabric. Simple make up, streight hair... simplicity is the key, always. I wanted to show the strength and fragility at the same time, that's how I see woman's portrait. <br />
This photo was taken in the first days of September, sunny and still warm. Originally the idea was to shoot the model in Shabby style. But this photo which I made almost at the last five minutes of photoshooting is completely different from the whole serium. Even postproduction I made. <br /> She wanted to strike a pose, standing on the slope of 45 degrees down, on the bank of a small pond, but I called her and she just looked at the camera... And the shot was done.
Every time I go to my hometown - St. Petersburg - I'm trying to organize a photo shoot on the streets. Every corner of this city is full of unique charm, even the yards that may seem unremarkable, each have its own character. This photo was taken in one of these yards in the evening, around 5 p.m. I was attracted to the wall of the house with different types of windows. The whole appearance of this house in the background creates the right mood: mild sadness and melancoly, but still it looks warm and cold at the same time as autumn always is in Saint Petersburg. <br /> I took a few shots and choose the one where my model is not looking at the camera. Very often when I choose pictures after the shooting I can hear songs in the background in my head which can help to describe the mood. And when I look at this photo I hear "Aha - Summer moved on". What do you hear?

The feeling - as I would describe this. Meet Katja - beautiful model here in Finland.<br /> <br /> I always like to keep my portraits simple, beautiful and authentic as this is (at least for me). Only the backdrop and light is mine and everything else is hers. I shot this in my studio with one light, no extra make-up and hair in a Bun. Simple set, stunning female and her warming feeling mixed with cold background is just a perfect match.
I met this gorgeous model Alina at first time for this photoshoot at my studio. She is a fitness blogger, Miss Lace, Car Babe, you name it. My only mission was (and is) to capture authentic glamour/beauty portraits and we nailed it as you can see from the photo.
I took this portrait with Katja, amazing model here in Joensuu, Finland. We were just playing around with ideas and trying different things with my new studio at old locomotive barracks and we made this beautiful portrait of her.
This great model, Alina Pastsenko drove 500 kilometers to be photographed by me and we did some portraiture and some boudoir. Stunning model, those eyes can bring stories to life as you can see
I shot this portrait at my studio with Katja I as we we're just shooting ideas and trying to get some real feeling to the photo with clothes similar to the 80's style. And as usual, it was almost too easy with Katja I

The second photo is Autumn. She is actually a lawyer in Palo Alto, CA but was also a seventeen magazine model a few years ago, lol...when she was 17. Smart and beautiful! She is amazing to work with.
The ballerina is Clare and she is a childhood friend of my sons. She is an amazing ballerina and that's her tutu around her head. I have lots of Ballerina photo's in my gallery thanks to Clare. She is amazing to work with.

Lisa is one of my favourite models. I took the photo when i visited a good friend of mine in germany. In his kitchen there was such a great incident light, so that I immidiately knew that this will be a wonderful shot! The picture was taken just with the available light there.
Melinda is a very lovely person and a nice model to work with. When i took that picture, it was the first time I photographed her. At the location I made this shot there was just available light, great to work to!

Taken in a Castle in Switzerland in January 2017. The temperature was around 10 degrees in the room (outdoor -5 degress). We used a heater for about 6 hours but the room was still as cold as in the morning. Vita (@vitagoncharuk ) and I decided to go with this blue Dress instead of the shoulderfree one. It was the right decision! I used a 180cm umbrella, turned slightly away from Vita, relativatly close to her. I wanted to have a soft light with a natural fall off in the corners of the Picture. The posing should fit to old paintings in the background. Vita did a great job!
My title for this Picture is "When Life is pouring down on you". english is not my first language. so, forgive me if it sounds not quite right. I was going for a lost look for the picture, showing a woman lost in thoughts, seeing that she is feeling blue, trying to protect herself under a umbrella - yet distant, not in reach to give her comfort. And Vita (@vitagoncharuk ) did a great job. Thank you, Vita.
"Portrait of Deborah"<br /> Since Deborah (Model & MakeUp Artist, FB @deborahjoergermakeup) is a calm woman I was aiming to show that in the portrait. I decided to do a series of black&white portraits, dark and a lot of black, with available light indoors.
"The Picture"<br /> Cloudy sunday afternoon, Sujata (Model, FB @Miss.Sujata.Setema) and Beverly (MakeUp Artist, FB @MakeupbyBeverlyGressler) and I joined up to take some Pictures. Along came Ray (my BorderCollie), Beverly's Husband Marco and their two kids - it was looking like an Extended Family trip. Having arrived at the location, Marco and Ray were looking after the two kids and the rest of us was preparing the shooting, strobes, dress...<br /> we were going for a mysterious, quiet look, with some glamour to it but with a melancholic feeling. as a Dress we chose a white Dress giving her an innocent and, with the old painting, even more melancholic look - leaving the beholder with more questions than the Picture answers.

I met Anna around a year ago during her pregnancy.<br /> We made few shootings together about her maternity and giving birth. But, she is such an amazing woman, so i wanted to capture her natural beauty and show it in the best way.<br /> Fantastic glance plus red berries and greeness make this pictures interesting and piercing.

I have participated in ICU project in Copenhagen. Marina was one of the winner-models. We were 8 photographers making pictures of 3 women in different scenes and outfits. It was really interesting experience to challenge with other photographers and saw how different we see the world around us.<br />

Sometimes, simplicity is best. Meet Lily, my over-dramatic, fashion-forward bestie. Always done up, I aimed to capture the natural beauty of Lily. Using an accented analogous technique, I took this photo in beside a small window in Lily's Toronto dorm room. As students, money was (and is) slim, I used a piece of dollar-store bristol board for my backdrop, and we scrounged Lily's ever-growing closet for matching colours. A natural light portrait that remains one of my favourite portraits.
Another beautiful image of Lily, who's stunning features make her a perfect choice for many of my person-requiring assignments. Lily is a natural beauty, who fusses over every detail: her makeup, outfit, hair, everything. Strip all that away, and your left with the natural beauty of Lily. Normally, fierce green eyes match perfectly lip-glossed pouty lips. In this black and white, my focus goes straight to the actual shape and beauty of her face, the wave of her hair, the natural ease she has in front of a camera. I love black and whites, and I think it turns an ordinary photo into a piece of art, just as I strived to do here.
Taken April 2016, my best friend often struggles with being my photography subject. As with all my subjects, I wanted her to see the beauty and power that I see in her everyday. First, a makeup subject, now, a queen, above everyone with that fierceness I have learned to love about her. One of my favourite portraits by far.

Fallen Angels is a series of images dedicated to all the people who, in their lives, have dared to disturb the universe. They believed they could transform the world and their lives. To all the people who dared to fly.
Donna Peixote<br /> The project was carried out in an empty house in Rotterdam. The setting, full of magic and history, let me to create images that evoke the dream. The huge windows gave off a perfect natural light to illuminate the subject and to give a mild prominence of light and shadow to the entire scene. The basic idea was to portray the characters as individuals dreamy, lost within their own imagination, in a ‘unique vision and shared the same space. I tried to turn on hopes of paving the way to the desires, to seize the soul hidden behind the eyes of my models. I went back and their children. Free, I never gave up and full of wonder.
Lynda Grace<br /> With this image, I wanted to create a portrait of evanescent atmosphere. The purpose of this study was to infuse a contemporary choreography with an ancient one. In fact, the model does not have the appearance of a modern girl, but a figure reminiscent of a distant era. The look of Lynda seems to require a response, almost as if she was wondering, “Where am I? What am I doing?”

This portrait of Paola was made during a test shoot in my in-home studio. We had clothing brought in by a local designer here in Uruguay called Petra. It's elegant Greek style inspired us throughout the rest of the shoot aiming for strong yet feminine Greek poses and focused on the details of her facial structure. We held up a creamy wool sweater as the background to bring in a touch of warm texture for this image. Lovely Paola is a new face model with Valentino Bookings in Montevideo.
This portrait of Bianca was taken during a trip to Mexico City. She is a model from Buenos Aires, and this headshot was taken just before moving to New York to pursue her career in the modeling capital of the world. I like this portrait of her because the innocence of her eyes are reminiscent of one of the primary female archetypes of french cinema.
This is a soft-lit portrait of Catalina from Valentino bookings in Montevideo, Uruguay. It was her second photoshoot of her career and at the age of 14 she shows much promise.

This photo is titled "Engagement"...and is one of my most intimate works - amazingly talented model. As for interest, the colors purple and blue were selected to convey certain hidden expressions. Purple represented mystery, uncertainty, but hope. Blue being the lighter side... defined having faith, to trust, and confidence in commitment. There is a double subject matter where the attention travels between her and the ring.
Meet Matt. <br /> Model: Matt M. <br /> Retouch: Thach of FotoHouse. <br /> On a day filled with emotions and mixed feelings for someone very dear to him who had passed, this portrait depicts his transitional moment of relief from all the suppressions endured throughout the day. This is a person who has overcome great hardships and adversity. His ability to sustain such optimism inspires me--it was truly an honor to photograph him. On a technical note, the capture had to be absolutely perfect as the DOF was narrow which could result to easily misfocusing while he nodded or moved his head during a conversation. So, it was essential to execute the shot while the gesture was in transit. What you see...is a moment where he is in the middle of saying, "I'm going to be OK". And it's more than okay.....life's good.

This is a conceptual shot over the theme of the passing of Time. The railway, the level passage is a place where we usually don't stop, stand or sit. The girl represents those who seek deeper and stop where others don't, wait while others rush, search for things when and where others won't. She holds an hourglass, symbol of the passing of time. If you stop, you can hold time, maybe just for a while.
Spring perfection. This is a picture taken last spring. The girl was sitting in a field. I asked the model to just dress the way she felt most comfortable. I wanted a shot of her feeling relaxed, feeling like she's feeling when everything's perfectly fine, on a perfect spring evening, at sunset.<br />
This is a simple portrait. The model has really magnetic eyes and I wanted to create something intimate, ton convey what I saw in her beautiful eyes. The black and white allowed me to show the contrast and the shapes better. Shooting at 1.4 made it simple to isolate this amazing subject. So intense.<br />

For the shooting „dream worlds“ I did some thinking about the subject dreams. Dreams in themselves cannot be observed. They are never concrete…never tangible. We experience them only alone. Dreams are fragile and transient, but can be so strong that they „take us with them“…in one or the other way…positiv or negative.<br /> While shooting it was important for me to make the invisible visible for the eye. As in a dream flowers, spiny flowers, roses and silver thistles appear to us through a translucent veil in the picture. The sleeping beauty makes us curious. What may she dream of? How long may she probably lie there. She appears like an angle. Her eyes are closed. We get the association of Snow White in the glass coffin. Nobody wants to disturb her long sleep. This photo was taken in Los Angeles, at a photographers meet I attended. These photo meets are hosted around in the L.A. area, where photographers are able to test their photo skills with models. This was my first time going to this specific meet, where they collaborated with a different group. This photo was taken at the last bookstore. A beautiful book store in downtown L.A. The model is Maddy we set this shoot up last minute. Fun fact they Took our bags at the front door. I always wanted to create some kind of fairy tale photos, I found a perfect location not know by many people. Located in Hawaii, so it was perfect and private, I feel like I was in never land . My model really got connected with the nature around us and all worked out perfectly, giving me the end results I was looking for.
I love to do some candid style photos, I asked her lets just do a run around the beach and I loved how everything worked, we had so much fun. The freedom, the happiness captured was priceless.
It was poring rain this day but once it slowed down rays of sunlight appear, I took advantage of the timing, it still was raining a little bit but she enjoyed the blessing of the rain from that day, it was incredibly fun with a touch of a magic moment.
