I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil by a Portuguese mother and Italian father who tried to teach me about my roots through cinema. That ultimately led me to give up their profession and drop med school to pursue a career as a filmmaker. On that path I discovered and fell in love with photography. After working for Leica in Brazil I moved to L.A. to join the cinematography program at AFI.
