I've been a journalist for the past decade, but it's always served as a mask for my true passion: photography. Last year, I decided to get back into photography and set myself an ambitious project: to take 365 portraits of friends, family, strangers and anyone else willing to sit in front of my lens. The experience has been transformative. Being able to spend time getting to know my subjects, but also myself has helped me understand the purpose of portrait photography more than any book or class ever could. My ambition is to turn this into a full-time career, and have the luxury of being able to spend the time to see the person beneath the veneer that we all put up.
